Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt Guide

Diecast Craze Hot Wheels guide: circle-flame marking for regular Treasure Hunts; TH marking, Spectraflame paint and Real Riders tires for Supers; silver or gold symbol on the card behind the car.

Tap the image to view it full size. Cars shown are illustrative examples.

Regular Treasure Hunts: what to check

  • For modern mainline releases (2013 onward), look for the small flame-inside-a-circle symbol on the vehicle.
  • The cardboard backing may also have a silver circle-flame symbol behind the car, inside the blister area. The car can hide it.

Super Treasure Hunts: what to check

  • Look for the TH marking on the vehicle.
  • Check for Spectraflame paint and Real Riders rubber tires.
  • The cardboard backing may have a gold circle-flame symbol behind the car, inside the blister area.

Confirm the exact release

Check the model, release year and variation together. Paint, rubber tires or a flame graphic alone do not prove a car is a Treasure Hunt. Earlier releases and other Hot Wheels lines can use different markings or packaging.

Check the collector identification reference.

What to look for

  • Gold or other color-chrome wheels, bumpers, grilles, interior or trim that differ from the regular version.
  • Some raw chase releases have an exposed bare-metal body.
  • Compare the exact model and release with M2's official release photos. Production counts vary; gold wheels or a low production number alone do not confirm a chase.

What to look for

  • Green Machine clues can include green wheel rims, a green chassis, green body paint or other green details. Not every version has every trait.

  • Other GreenLight chase styles also exist. Confirm the specific chase variation for the release.
